The role reports to the PMO Technology Director.
The PMO is responsible for IT project deliveries as well as providing IT Technology with processes, templates and tools for running our projects efficiently in North and Central Europe.
We work in an agile way and you will also have a role as an internal agile coach. DevOps and SecDevOps are also delivery models that will influence your role.
PMO Manager will play a pivotal role in the transformation of the PMO in the Technology Group.
As a part of this role, you will be responsible to implement a standardize overall program management and reporting framework based on best practices for all the projects that fall under the technology group such as Applications, Infrastructure, E-commerce, Compliance and BI, improving the overall project management maturity across the organization.
Whilst having the ability to manage medium to large-sized projects and displaying excellent organizational and communication skills, the candidate will be a confident self-starter, with a result orientated focus.
In addition to providing guidance and structure to the other project Managers, the PMO Manager will also be assigned projects to head up as a Project Manager. This role will also aid to transform the project reporting processes including project financials for all projects in IT to the Director of IT Portfolio. As a manager, you will coach and provide guidance to your team members and others, so they can unleash their full potential, grow as a team and create the best business value.

Standardize the project management process within the IT PMO including developing an integrated project reporting across all IT projects
Manage, plan and facilitate the strategic project planning process including risk management. And in line with that, develop related presentation materials and prepare structured communication
Assist the Director IT PMO with IT Portfolio Management and be a liaison with other teams within IT PMO, Technology and the business
Assist project managers in running and staffing projects. Also providing guidance with regards to standard project procedures and methodology and a quality role in adherence to the standard project deliverables
Project management responsibilities where required.
Responsible for the financial administration of the IT project portfolio and subsequent reporting
Responsible for reporting on operational costs, assisting with executive reviews
Advising on the financial process within IT PMO and being the liaison between IT PMO and Finance
Validate business needs as input for (annual) portfolio planning
Keeping track of individual projects as well as portfolio (planning, milestone, performance, risk, benefits & financials).
Identifying planned and unforeseen change and the impact on individual projects as well as the portfolio
This role keeps a birds-eye view on all on-going projects within IT PMO, assemble new project proposals and advise the Director IT PMO as to their compatibility with the rest of the portfolio.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining an IT PMO project monitoring and measurement
Responsible for preparation and facilitation of decision making on projects (business case, fit with portfolio, fit with IT goals)
Supporting other IT Project Managers in project procedures and quality of reporting
Deliver projects with efficiency identifying critical factors on time, prioritizing resources and tasks, and communicating project activity to stakeholders.
Responsible for all IT PMO related communication: newsletters, executive briefings, town halls.
Responsible for supporting development, for documenting and communicating the IT PMO strategic objectives
Support the Director IT Portfolio in various tactical and strategical topics and decisions
Knowledge and experience
University degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Operations Engineering or related field.
8+ yearsâ experience as a program manager for IT projects.
Experience in managing multiple projects at the same time and reporting to the central PMO
Experience with world-class Project Management methodologies like PMI, Prince2, APM, and IPMA. Certification from a recognized professional body is an asset.
A deep understanding and first-hand experience of traditional waterfall and agile project management methodologies used in the industry e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum
Good understanding of business processes, preferably in a retail environment
Experience in system analysis as well as in business analysis.
Ability to manage the standard delivery process including; defining scope, assessing risk, managing issues and cost.
Experience utilizing effective communication skills (written & verbal) to Sr. manager or executive levels

Strong resource management, financial management, and budget management skills
Fluent English speaker, other European languages is an asset
Willingness and ability to travel within Europe more than 50%.
