We are looking to recruit a Head of Enterprise Architecture based at our site in Leeds City Centre office. With this role you would become part of the UK’s largest provider of genuinely free independent debt advice and managed solutions.

What you will be doing

To be responsible to ensure that the overall IT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality. The primary role of the Enterprise Architect is to ensure that the respective business, application, data and technology perspectives are in line with the organisation’s technology and governance strategies, policies and standards.

Key accountabilities

  • Recommends and participates in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA)
  • Researches overall ICT solutions on the market for particular technical requirements and business needs.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate levels of stakeholder communication to ensure aligned organizational and technology strategic directions
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the charity’s priorities and work closely with the CIO and Strategic Development & Change function in order to determine the IT roadmap.
  • Ensure that our systems support the alignment of our strategies. Take a holistic view of the landscape to ensure the technology platform is established to support the long-term growth objectives, taking into account design principles.
  • Responsible for the management of the organization application landscape and for the design of technical application and integration architecture. Play a leading role across all new and legacy technology options making recommendations to stakeholders and providing advice and guidance to the Exec where applicable, aligned to the strategic priorities and vision.

Experience and knowledge

  • Previous experience of implementing large scale development projects, preferably in an architectural role
  • Previous experience of managing and leading a multi-skilled team, motivating individuals and promoting positive team spirit
  • Previous experience of mentoring and developing team members
  • Proven experience of operating at a senior level in both Solutions and Enterprise Architecture
  • Previous experience of managing and leading a multi-skilled team, motivating individuals and promoting positive team spirit

Skills and abilities

  • Lead the team in delivering IT architecture including:
    • Enterprise Architecture
    • Application Architecture
    • Security Architecture
    • Integration Architecture and
    • Digital Architecture.
  • With the team carry out technical research and development activities in order to identify new techniques or tools.
  • Define solutions for changes and projects that evolve current systems to the desired architecture
  • Develop and operate an IT architecture governance framework involving stakeholders in the joint development of priority technology investments, ensuring seamless transition from design stage to build stage.
