Ensuring Sustainability is an integral part of the Beiersdorf business strategy across all business segments. We are establishing Sustainability as a business driver for competitiveness and safeguarding that contribution to Sustainability targets and priorities is considered in all relevant business decisions. Therefore we are developing and advancing Beiersdorf’s Sustainability Strategy. Securing the Corporate Sustainability Agenda is in line with legal requirements and stakeholder expectations. Risks and opportunities are identified and managed in relation to sustainable development to protect and develop the companies’ and brands’ reputation.
Strategy development and governance
You develop the Beiersdorf Sustainability Agenda (social and environmental) as part of the C.A.R.E.+ business strategy and ensure the integration of the agenda into functional and regional strategies as well as investments strategies, employee engagement and volunteering concepts.
External and internal Sustainability reporting incl. target setting and KPI’s
You steer the global target setting for Sustainability and govern the operational target breakdown and monitoring framework.
You secure that performance management processes and systems are in place.
You ensure an external Sustainability reporting in line with legal requirements and stakeholder expectations including the annual sustainability report.
You develop a rating strategy for ESG ratings and manage investor and other stakeholder relations with regards to Sustainability performance.
Compliance and risk management
For ensuring compliance with all relevant requirements (regulations, customer, NGO´s etc.) you define and implement global Sustainability standards and guidelines.
You steer the identification of risk and opportunities and ensure risks are managed pro-actively and opportunities are seized.
Expertise & competitive intelligence
You provide sustainability expertise for internal consultancy and support competition & trend monitoring.
Internal and external stakeholder management
You manage the Sustainability Council and ensure the group wide employee engagement to drive the cultural change.
You establish and manage an internal and external sustainability network globally.
Integration into organisation and processes and conflict management
You secure the Sustainability is anchored in all relevant business and change processes.
You provide guidance, motivation and development for the social and environmental team leaders and teams. Throughout the Sustainability network you ensure an aligned approach and agenda setting.
You lead, motivate and develop your direct reports and their teams.
What it takes
Long years of experience in various business functions
Experience and passion in Sustainability
Outstanding diplomatic skills and the ability to manage highly diverse networks of stakeholders (from top management to works council)
High level of persistence and conflict management skills to overcome resistance
Outstanding communication skills
Strong in managing ambiguity
Highly experienced in leadership of heterogeneous/international teams
Develop a deep understanding of the group
Strong internal and external network
Fluent in Business English
