Integrated Data Platform Operations Departmental Outline:

The Integrated Data Platform is the core strategic data platform (data lake) for the Securities Services business. Data sets including valued positions, transactions reference data and cash presented on a real time basis connecting internal systems, clients and third parties supporting custody, fund accounting and middle office services including Investment Book of Record (IBOR). The IDP Operations team work with clients, project teams and technology partners to define data quality and data governance practices supporting the implementation of IDP and ensuring data meets the highest standards.


Role Description:

This is a Vice President position in Operations based in London that will take a leading role working with clients, project teams and technology partners to define data quality and data governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Defining data quality standards, working with clients and internal data users to understand data usage and risk, implementing targeted data quality rules

  • Investigating data quality issues using results of testing and client feedback, establishing root cause and preventative measures

  • Working with technology and product partners to review and improve the design of systems and data feeds, championing improvements to data quality

  • Establishing dashboards and metrics. Demonstrating progress on data quality improvements to clients and senior management with clear and consistent statistics and commentary

  • Reviewing tools for data view, data lineage, data workflow management identifying development needs and developing business case for enhancements

  • Embedding data quality in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and release cycles, working with technology and testing teams to ensure appropriate data quality standards are applied

  • Supporting Operations users in accessing data, understanding its provenance and developing best practice in maintaining data standards

  • Working closely with project teams on major system implementations, providing requirements, reviewing design, planning testing, data migration and implementation phases

  • Establishing strong processes for data ownership and stewardship, working with senior management to ensure roles are understood, and tools and training delivered to support data owners

  • Ability to engage effectively across teams, taking a leading role partnering with clients, project teams and technology in defining strategy for data management
  • Strong understanding of data components for an Investment Book of Record (IBOR) including full range of asset classes (OTC, ETD, FX, Cash, Equity, Fixed Income)
  • Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle, cash management and corporate actions
  • Strong technical data management skills e.g. previous data modelling, data architecture, data governance experience, understanding of various tools and methodologies to support management of data on a large scale
  • Excellent problem solving skills to identify, understand and address operational and technical issues, taking the initiative to drive change and enhance controls
  • Motivated and able to deliver with minimal supervision, whilst working effectively in a team
  • Ability to partner in a virtual team environment across multiple locations
