I. Job General scope.

The key mission of the Area Sales Manager is to manage the Sales activities covering the customers and markets portfolio in line with Business Unit objectives to achieve sustainable growth and commercial plan targets in terms of volumes, revenues and gross margin.

Promote and sell the Porcher Industries Group solutions to customers within the assigned geographical area – EMEA, Focus Central/West Europe (France, DACH, Italy…)- and business Unit scope Sports & Leisure with focus on technical textile, apparel and gear/soft goods but also composites/hard goods

  • Deliver the annual targets, in volumes, revenues and gross margin of the targeted market segments
  • Attack new market segments and open new customers whilst growing on existing segments/customers
  • Develop a business plan and steer the business for the region for short and mid terms
  • Report to the EMEA Head of Sales BU Sports & Leisure

II. Qualification requirement:

  • Master Engineering degree in Materials textile/composites + Bachelor/Master degree in Business Administration/Sales Development
  • + 6 years in account management and business development with proven track of building and developing business in Europe
  • + 6 years in textile apparel or footwear and or composite materials industry, for a brand, or distributor of materials
  • + 4 years in sporting goods industry for a known technical brand or a key distributor, associated with a solid passion/practice for sports –Has/practice(d) sports regularly and get a good fit with sports actors.
  • Experience and passion must be in outdoor sports, paragliding, sailing, kite
  • Planning & preparation: maintain detailed regional and account/customer ID card, customer visit objectives and presentations, obsessively prepared for each customer call
  • Adaptability, flexibility – Results/target oriented – Communication: strong relationship building and interpersonal skills, Team Work,
  • Customer Focus: Orient plans & actions to create value and satisfaction to customers, commercial acumen, anticipate objections and identify win win opportunities with customers
  • English Verbal and written communication skills, French or German as a mother language.
  • Min 50% traveling regional traveling (UK, Alpin Arc France, DACH, Italy , mostly)

III. Main Responsibilities/Missions/Objectives:

Sales

  • Responsible for the achievement of the sales and contribution margin targets in the defined territory
  • Deliver the solutions/segments objectives in sales
  • Develop a regional and market segments plan to grow sales and customers base, identify sales and prospection opportunities as well as new markets/segments openings
  • Manage all accounts of the region and market segments, plan and lead meetings and negotiations with customers, deliver account targets and action plans
  • Initiate business plan with market management commercial planning
  • Implement continuous sales performance evaluations and improvements, to ensure a high level of customers’ satisfaction and retention
  • Propose solutions to customers, define Customer price, terms, and contract negotiations
  • Continuously improve forecast accuracy with key customers
  • Manage business partners
  • Identify and anticipate market trends, evaluate and manage business and market development opportunities and provide input to strategic market development plan.
  • Perform value chains., competition and market analysis
  • Explore opportunities in new potential market segments, and acquire new customers and growth
  • Focus on soft goods/technical textile for paragliding, sailing, outdoor/active sports protective apparel and gears but also with ability to develop business (business development/hunting) with composites and hard goods markets (ski, cycling…)
  • 60% farming/40% hunting business development

Relationship

  • Liaise with supply-chain, logistics, R&D, product and operations staff to ensure customers satisfaction, sales growth/effectiveness and opportunities
  • Be active with active S&L distributors, led by the BU Industries
  • Liaise with the BU sales team to ensure consistency across regions and market segments
  • Maximize sales coverage and visits within the given region

Reporting

  • Analyse and report competitors, key customers key information
  • Report and analyse sales, reforecast data
  • Complete all reports and records required and submit on a timely basis
