Position Overview:
The Senior Manager is a member of the corporate accounting team and is responsible for the day-to-day accounting of the company’s Zurich entity.

Essential Job Functions:
The position requires a hands-on, proactive and highly detail-oriented individual who is also able to take a step back and see the big picture. Specific duties include:

  • Oversee the accounting close and the day-to-day accounting operations
  • Prepare analysis of the financial statements on a monthly basis
  • Review month-end journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Coach, mentor and develop accounting team members
  • Streamline and improve processes over the accounting close and internal reporting
  • Review quarterly invoices for management and advisory fees
  • Ensure outstanding receivables are tracked/monitored and followed up for payment
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoice review and approval
  • Review expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Manage the quarterly reviews and annual audit process with outside auditors
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP, IFRS and corporate accounting policies
  • Oversee local statutory books and ensure timely filings with regulators
  • Coordinate with the U.S. accounting team and other subsidiaries to ensure intercompany transactions are recorded accurately
  • Other projects and duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent designation preferred
  • Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior public accounting experience preferred (Big 4 or Large Regional)
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS accounting principles and financial reporting concepts
  • Experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Experience with non-U.S. entities, statutory reporting and foreign currency translation strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with investment partnership accounting and/or reporting a plus
  • Acute attention to accuracy and detail
  • Must be sharp, articulate and highly motivated
  • Ability to prioritize activities while working on multiple projects to achieve target deadlines
  • Must be a team player
  • Highly proficient in using Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs
  • NetSuite general ledger experience a plus
