R&D Technology Manager, MACH

Are you ready to take on a position where you can lead the development of the world’s most advanced control system for the electrical grid? In the role of R&D Technology Manager, you will lead a global multidisciplinary team and be responsible for the development of a top Control and Protection system for grid connected power converters – MACH.

Your responsibilities

The MACH team has the responsibility to develop advanced and modern control and protection system for HVDC and FACTS, fulfilling strict requirements on usability, reliability and security. As Technology Manager you will have the overall responsibility for the development of MACH, as well as defining strategy and architecture.

In your role you will lead a multi-disciplinary team located in Sweden, India and Poland. You will work closely together with product managers and R&D managers regarding the direction and content, as well as with Engineering, Project Operations, Service, Procurement and Logistics teams regarding the deliverables. In addition, you will be a member of the Business Line R&D management team, participating in technology strategy preparation.

Location for the position is Västerås or Ludvika, availability for travelling will be needed.

Your background

To succeed in the role, you hold an MSc degree or equal in a relevant area combined with a background within Research and Development, control systems. This role requires previous managerial experience due to the seniority of the role.

You are skilled in leading through other managers and proficient in Lean and agile R&D methods. As you will be working in a global environment, you are fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of additional languages is meritorious.

On a personal level, you are an energetic and team-oriented leader with excellent collaborative and communication skills. It is essential that you can prioritize efficiently and manage the expectations of different stakeholders. Adding your experience in a multicultural environment and ability to coach and motivate by influence, you have what it takes to thrive in this position.
