Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:< <

To lead the development and execution of procurement strategies in alignment with senior management and relevant business partners as well as the global category management team< To ensure that commercial and business relationships and engagements with agencies and other suppliers are handled according to policies, commercial, risk management and procurement category-related best practices. < <

Key Responsibilities: < <

Oversee procurement activity in the local business to ensure that procurements are let in accordance with policy and best practice guidance< Lead supplier selection/pitch processes in alignment with business partners and negotiate contracts up to final authorisation including dispute resolution, approving and qualifying suppliers as well as authorisation of contracts and purchase orders< Development of robust pricing mechanisms, key performance indicators (KPI’s) and price reduction mechanisms < Ongoing performance management of contractual arrangements including delivery of performance improvement plans and supplier rating to manage suppliers and drive value and continuous improvement from contractual arrangements< Delivery of market analysis/research and industry/customer engagement to ensure robust business cases and sourcing plans to inform and shape new/replacement contracting vehicles< Build business relationships and effectively partner with relevant stakeholders within the local business and Western Europe< Lead and participate in cross-functional teams in defined procurement and general development projects, as well as pro-actively support other team members in their tasks and activities< Continuous learning and development of procurement/category knowledge and methodologies, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the procurement function Proactively identify opportunities for the procurement team to add value to the business

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of sourcing and procurement methodologies and concepts<
  • Ideally strong exposure to the Marketing and/or IT categories<
  • Ability to communicate complex commercial and contractual concepts clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing<
  • Ability to translate business requirements into measurable assessment criteria<
  • Ability to analyse and resolve issues, managing risks and making effective procurement decisions<
  • Knowledge of category management processes<
  • Ability to support the development of sourcing strategies in order to face market trends<
  • Knowledge and experience in stakeholder and supplier relationship management, employment contracts, work/labour contracts, claim management, liability, warranty and (inter)national procurement-related legislation< < <
  • Strong capability to independently interact throughout the adidas Group<
  • Project management skills with international project and process management knowledge and experience<
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills<
  • Ability to operate at pace and respond positively to change<
  • Action-oriented and solution-minded team player with high degree of self-management<
  • Proficiency in MS Office and preferably P2P platforms such as SAP, Ariba or Coupa<
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written; other European language(s) are an advantage<
  • Travel may be required < <

    Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: < <

  • A degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or law, or comparable professional education. M.B.A. a plus <
  • At least 5+ years’ working experience with a minimum 3+ years of experience in a procurement role<
  • CIPS qualifications are desirable< <
