Sales Manager for FLSmidth Operation & Maintenance

About the role
You have the opportunity to join FLSmidth’s growing Operation and Maintenance Unit where you will be responsible for sales of operation and maintenance contracts within the cement industries with direct report to the Head of Global Sales of Operation and Maintenance.
Together with our regional offices, you will be a key player in our efforts to pursue, negotiate and secure the sale of O&M contracts. As such you will work on sales opportunities from initial screening and proposal to successfully create new business that brings value to FLSmidth and our customers.
About the department
The FLSmidth O&M activities was launched and developed in Egypt and now expands across Africa and the Middle East. Now we are expanding to the rest of the world and your task will be to take responsibility of a completely new region.
You will be:
- Developing a go-to market strategy together with the regional FLSmidth stakeholders
- Adapting existing O&M concepts to the market requirements
- Transforming concepts into workable long-term agreements
- Coordinating the technical, legal, tax and commercial aspects of the project
- Leading the negotiations on complex contracts
- Aligning internal O&M stakeholders and support Project Management during the Mobilization phase
You have a relevant technical education with a high commercial understanding or vice versa (e.g. a degree in Engineering with experience in sales or a Business degree with experience in a heavy asset industry). You are a capable and competent negotiator with solid experience from sales of large and complex projects. The combination of your business proficiency and your good understanding of the cement and/or minerals industry enables you to carry out far-sighted market analyses. It is crucial that you are able to identify and involve key business stakeholders and make sure that their knowledge in combination with your own creates business value for the customer and for FLSmidth. Furthermore, you possess in-depth understanding of economic, political and cultural terms for customers. Hopefully you are a natural networker and have the ability to identify, involve and convince key business stakeholders across geographical and cultural borders while being a true team player with strong commitment and drive. You can anticipate approximately 60-100 travel days per year.
