Primary objectives for a senior manager, commercial BTS at Abbvie
The Brand BTS Manager, works within the Commercial Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team in the affiliate and is responsible for helping the brand teams maximise the value they can realise from technology. They will play an active role in the planning and direction of local and global technology implementation partnering alongside the Commercial teams, Affiliate BTS leadership, and other functions.
The Brand BTS Manager is expected to:
  • Provide the Brand Teams high-quality advice on the use of technology via input into business strategy, in areas where technology plays a significant role
  • Understand emerging technology and digital strategies within Global and Area, and understand how they will impact affiliate business strategies, as well as existing systems and procedures to plan proper transitions
  • Sell the value and benefits of Commercial BTS across all areas of competency (i.e. internal collaboration, digital, analytics, In-Field Team excellence)

Core Job Responsibilities:
The Commercial BTS Team has responsibilities across several areas:

Global and Area Internal Business Systems
The Commercial BTS team will play a key role in the implementation of Global and Area internal business systems in particular, technology options for MCM enablement and Business Analytics. This will entail:
  • Acting as the BTS representative for affiliate business vision/strategy sessions where a technology component is present
  • Managing, or being part of the project team, for the implementation of Global and Area systems within the affiliate, as required
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge around these systems, and being a point of contact for the affiliate for future developments and best practice
  • Building a strong working relationship with Area BTS management, the BTS Capability Towers and Corporate BTS services

Commercial Solutions
The Commercial BTS team will play a role in the creation, delivery, and monitoring of affiliate Commercial Solutions. These are local solutions designed for our external stakeholders, mainly in partnership with the Brand Teams and Medical functions. The Commercial BTS team will:
  • Define, initiate and oversee the delivery of technology projects at an affiliate level.
  • Understand the local business landscape and dynamics and partner with business to create opportunities for the use of technology that support the key business strategies
  • Ensure that projects are integrated solutions, re-using existing solutions and AbbVie-standard platforms wherever possible, and fulfil their functional business requirements
  • Help the customers make business savvy decisions regarding risk, costs, measures of success and ROI (return of investment) for affiliate BTS projects
  • Work with Global, WEC and affiliate technical leads (Capability Towers) to recommend and implement technology and digital strategies within the affiliate brand teams.
  • Maximize impact & usage of platforms/solutions (e.g. CRM, CLM, Analytics, apps, websites) by briefing teams on their value and liaise with internal stakeholders to collected user feedback to identify their needs regarding required data sources and associated dashboards
Compliance and Control
The Commercial BTS team is responsible for the implementation and management of BTS compliance within the affiliate.
  • Responsible for compliance with, and helping raise awareness in the affiliate of, applicable Corporate and local IT policies
  • Ensure that relationships with external parties are managed effectively and constructively, with the appropriate contractual considerations in place for AbbVie’s benefit.
  • Will ensure that all technology projects including brand initiatives are compliant with local regulatory frameworks and legal requirements.
A Brand BTS Manager should be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to work effectively and highly interactively with all levels of management
  • Strong independent decision-making, organizational, planning and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Influence within a matrix organisation and the ability to lead without direct authority
  • Successfully managing technology projects through the full lifecycle
  • Experience in analysing, designing and improving business processes
  • Understanding of, or preferably experience delivering digital strategies (both communications and platforms) with corresponding analytic components
  • Experience with Compliance and the SLC
  • Management of external service providers
  • Ability to work effectively in a shared service environment
    The following are highly desirable areas of competency and knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience of the technology and digital landscape (including mobile, UX, web design, web build, marketing, SEO, SEM, web analytics, and social media)
  • Knowledge of CRM Data, One Key data, Sales data, other commercial data sources
  • Knowledge of data management policies and procedures

Knowledge / Education Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science/Business or equivalent experience, preferably in business or a closely related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of significant IT Consultancy or Professional experience.
  • Fluent in Swedish/Scandinavian/English
Practical information
We are recruiting a full time job located in Solna, Sweden. You will be travelling approximately 15% of your time and mainly within the Nordics. The last application date is may 31.
